Saving Time... Saving Money

If you spend any time at all on the Web, you’ll come across seemingly great offers that will make you a lot of money or that will teach you the next best thing to making you lose weight, grow hair, or help your kids make all A’s in school.

Over the years I’ve spent money on good products and good software. I’ve also wasted a ton of dough on promises, hype, and less than perfect software.

However, if you look around long enough you’ll find, some great FREE resources.

One of them is
Cool Mac Apps.

You can find plenty of great software for no cost.

Will all the software do everything you want it to do?

Well, it does the job it promises to do and the price can’t be beat.

One thing I see you could do at the site.

It costs a lot to put all the apps together in one place and allow gig upon gig of bandwith. I know the ads don’t even begin to cover the expenses.
(Ever had thousands of downloads from your site? It adds up!)

Click the donate button on the site. It will help bring more software our way.

And we could always use some savings, don’t you think?

Perfect Mac Home Business

My friends know I am an entrepreneur.

My thinking tends to look at a subject and figure out a way to monetize it. I often have to tell my mind to just keep quiet so I can enjoy the pleasure of seeing a new business open up without trying to figure out a way to help the owner make more profits.

I was going to the local chamber of commerce and saw a sign that said there was going to be a open house of a new cake shop. My wife enjoys creating cakes for parties, so I thought I’d stop in to take a look.

When I got there I saw that a photographer was set up with a cake display. The owner said she was sorry that the shop was a mess, but she was getting ready for an open house. I just walked around and asked if she sold items to make better cakes and she said she was “just” a full service bakery.

I started asking questions. She said business could be better.

I did find out that she had a very pretty website that wasn’t pulling people into her shop.

I got a card and walked out.

What this woman is doing is working to get more customers in the only way she knows how. By having an open house. By putting up a website.

Do you think she would enjoy a special report about growing her business by a successful bakery owner? Or maybe even a report about getting more customers from a referral expert?

Do you see what I am getting at?

People all over the planet are looking for ways to solve problems. Not just business problems, but problems of all kinds.

Which leads me to this.

The perfect business for using a Macintosh computer is in creating information products. Period.

The business of providing problem-solving information has been the BEST business for the average person for the last century.

And using a Mac to create products is the easiest way to get a business like this started.

The Real Truth About Making Money With A Mac

A lot of people are hurting right now. The economy is in a shambles. Job losses are high. Many folks hate their jobs but are afraid to jump out because of fear.

That’s the big elephant in the living room.

Fear.

I think it is a combination of things: the belief that having a job is the only way to be secure, insecurity about starting something and failing, concern over an uncertain future, layoffs, higher prices, and just no certainty of what’s coming next.

When I started working for myself full-time as a performer, I had come out of a career that I hated. More to the point I had a real problem working for someone for a mere pittance, when as a part-time performer, I would make a weeks’ salary with one show.

As a full-time business owner, I had to figure out ways to bring in money all the time. This was before I learned how to use my trusty Mac to generate income for me. In any case, there were times when I came up short, so I would get my Mac out and create a nice letter to send to my clients with a powerful offer that they could not resist.

I always got money this way.

One year I needed money to go on a specific trip, so I sent a letter offering my clients a very special set of shows for a special price. Almost all my clients took the package and cash came flying in.

What does this have to do with making money with a Macintosh computer?

Everything.

I had built up a set of clients who TRUSTED me.

These clients knew that when I made them an offer, they could bank on it.

If you have a select group of clients or customers that enjoy what you produce, then every time you create a product with your Mac, a good percentage of them will buy.

Making REAL money with a Mac is not about clicking a mouse or creating software.

Making REAL money with a Mac is about creating a product for a market that WANTS that product.

Period.

We’ll talk more about this as we continue this blog.

Warmly,

Millard Grubb

Running A Business With A Mac

A quick note first, the updates to www.macintoshcash.com are complete and the site is up and running.

I’m thrown for a loop whenever someone wants to run a business and they don’t even have a computer, much less a Macintosh.

Using a computer is vital these days, just to keep up with the speed of business, and to do the thousand and one things that have to be done to keep cash flowing.

Many Mac owners use their Macs in creative pursuits or just the day-to-day stuff of checking news, emails, etc.

But when you think about it, a computer only has to do a few things to make a business easier to run.

Let’s see:

Check emails... covered.

Database for customers... covered.

Spreadsheet for profits... covered.

Presentation software... covered.

Page layout software... covered.

Web creation... covered.

As a Mac owner, all these things are included when I buy a Macintosh computer. Of course, if I want super, high-powered versions of software to complete all business tasks, I can get them if I want. But as a small business owner, I don’t have to.

With a Mac, I’m covered.
